Abbey of the True Gun (1)

The Abbey of the True Gun is a secret chamber in The Gungeon, accessed through a hidden passage found in a type of room that's found in the Gungeon Proper. Accessing it for the first time grants the achievement "Reverence for the Dead" and the Blood Brooch.

How to access[ | ]

  • The Abbey of the True Gun is only accessible after visiting the Oubliette and acquiring the Old Crest.
  • The Old Crest must be carried into the Gungeon Proper without taking damage and placed on an altar, which can be found in a room with 7 big statues of bullet warriors, which will reveal stairs leading to the Abbey of the True Gun.

Boss[ | ]

Old King

Defeating the Old King rewards the player with a locked synergy chest as well as a normal boss reward. Like all bosses in secret floors, there is no Master Round for beating the Old King flawlessly.

Enemies[ | ]

In a few room layouts, certain enemies are guaranteed to be jammed regardless of curse.

Notes[ | ]

  • The Abbey always has a secret room containing Brother Albern and his chest. Breaking this chest gives Lies.
    • This secret room spawns separately from normal secret room spawns, meaning the player is more likely to discover multiple secret rooms on the Abbey than on any other floor, other than possibly Bullet Hell.
  • This floor introduces Pews, strips of wood that act as indestructible obstacles which impede movement while allowing bullets to pass over them.

Trivia[ | ]

  • Statues of Kaliber can be seen as decoration in the boss room.
  • Paintings of the High Priest can be found throughout the floor.
    • In addition, paintings of the minions summoned in the boss fight against Interdimensional Horror are mysteriously found throughout the floor.
  • The music that plays in the Abbey was originally used in Keep of the Lead Lord during the alpha.
