With training camp already beginning for some teams and everyone else following over the next week, we’ve reached the end of list and rankings season, which I’m sure many are happy about.
Given the nature of the position, oftentimes it is the quarterback rankings that can garner the most attention. In an effort to find some sort of consensus to the madness that is rankings and lists, I’ve compiled four different quarterback rankings from PFF, PFN, ESPN, and CBS Sports, finding each players’ average ranking, and then using that figure as their official landing spot in this composite power rankings list.
For teams like the Raiders, Vikings, and Patriots, who have multiple quarterbacks that could be starting this season, the average ranking between the two quarterbacks for each team was used as the final figure in these rankings.
For the Colts’ Anthony Richardson, he landed in the bottom third of these rankings, with I’m sure many analysts in wait-and-see mode after a shoulder injury limited him to only 98 dropbacks during his rookie season.
Due to his inexperience, to some degree, there may still be growing pains in 2024, but there was also a lot to like about what Richardson put on film in his limited sample size last season, showing growth over those four games. In addition to that, it’s not as if he will have to do it all on his own either, as he plays behind what should be a top tier offensive line unit, has help at the skill positions, along with having the continuity of being in Shane Steichen’s system for a second season.
Now, without further ado, here is a look at the 2024 composite quarterback rankings with football right around the corner.
