Parking & Transportation Guide (1)

Roadrunners, you have a wide variety of parking and transportation options to suit your needs and budget. Below are some helpful tips to make parking and getting around campus easier.

  • Know your permit options: We offer a wide variety of parking permits to suit your specific needs and budget.
  • The Runner: Campus Services partners with several apartment complexes near the Main Campus to provide transportation to and from campus on The Runner. Download The Runner GPS app for free on the Apple App Store or Google Play to view route schedules and track your shuttle’s location in real time.
  • Hourly Parking Options: Take advantage of hourly parking in Main Campus garages with a FastPass, making it quick and easy to park in garages at the hourly rate. Hourly parking is also available in ParkMobilezones in specific parking lots. Pay when you park via the ParkMobile app.
  • Take advantage of weekend and evening parking:Permit-free parking is available in Employee A, Employee B and unmarked Commuter spaces from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday–Thursday and from 4:30 p.m. Friday to 7:00 a.m. the following Monday.
  • Enjoy the benefits of your VIA U-Pass:In addition to allowing you to ride VIA buses for free, your VIA U-Passprovides free on-demand rides with VIA Link.
  • Telecommuter Pass: Similar to the FastPass, the Telecommuter Pass allows UTSA faculty and staff to pre-load funds to an RFID hangtag which grants entry to Main Campus garages, automatically deducting parking funds used.

  • Know your permit options: We offer a wide variety of parking permits to suit your specific needs and budget. All Main Campus garage permits are valid for use in the Downtown Campus Garage, unmarked Commuter spaces and in Employee B spaces from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.
  • The Little Runner: Environmentally friendly Little Runner vans and electronic vehicles are available within both a static service area as well as dynamic service area in the VIA Link downtown zone with the VIA Link mobile app, available for free on the App Storeand Google Play.
  • Enjoy the benefits of your VIA U-Pass: In addition to allowing you to ride VIA buses for free, your VIA U-Passprovides free on-demand rides with VIA Link.
  • Hourly Parking Options: Hourly parking is available in ParkMobilezones in specific parking lots. Pay when you park via the ParkMobile app.

  • Hourly Parking Options: Hourly parking is available at Main Campus garages for $2.50/hour, payable via mobile phone, at paystations or cashier window before returning to your vehicle. Hourly parking is also available in ParkMobilezones in specific parking lots on the Main Campus and the Downtown campus. Pay when you park via theParkMobile app.

Campus Services’ mission is to enhance the quality of campus life for students, faculty, staff and guests through the outstanding delivery of essential services, programs and facilities. We are here to help provide important parking and transportation information and answer all of your questions.

  • Each day, we monitor campus parking lots and garages to keep track of occupancy, ensure permit compliance and identify immediate or long-term needs for improvement.
  • We regularly share parking tips and updates with the Roadrunner community. Be sure to follow us on social media and watch for information from Campus Services in your weekly emails from the university—Campus Link, which is sent to students each Sunday, and UTSA This Week, which is sent to faculty and staff each Monday.
  • Campus Services staff is available to answer questions about any of the services we provide, including parking and transportation, via phone at (210) 458-7275, email or stopping by our offices (MS 1.01.52 and FS 2.424C) during business hours.
